If you need help locating your stock PCM Code, please click HERE. The PCM MUST be removed from the truck to gather this information. If you need help with this, click the "Documentation" link at the top of the screen and find the DP-Tuner Installation Instructions for your year truck You can use them to help locate and remove the PCM.



Optional OVERBOOST ANNIHILATOR: If you are ordering a DP-Tuner chip with programs of 80hp or higher, there is a very good chance that you will experience "Overboost" codes that set off the SES Light. These codes are caused by making more than about 23-24psi of boost and they cause the PCM to pull power back to reduce boost pressure. Our Overboost Annihilator (details) will remedy this problem and we are offering it to customers that are purchasing a DP-Tuner chip at a discount. If you don't already have an overboost solution, you can add it to your order below at the discounted price!

Optional SUPERLIFT TRUSPEED: The factory PCM can only be adjusted to compensate for tires up to 35" in diameter. If you are running tires larger than 35" you will need a SuperLift TruSpeed (details) to correct the speed signal. Keep in mind that the speed signal is used for more than the speedometer and odometer, it's also used for transmission shifting, torque converter lockup and the anti-lock brake system. We STRONGLY RECOMMEND that anyone running larger than stock tires (particularly 35"+) have their speed signal corrected. If you need a SuperLift TruSpeed to correct your speed signal, you can add one to your chip order below.

IMPORTANT VEHICLE PROGRAMMING NOTES:

  • 94-97 Trucks : These trucks are getting older. It's not uncommon for them to experience "bogging" due to low fuel pressure or a high pressure oil system that just can't keep up with the demand of todays advanced programming. We generally don't recommend tunes over 80hp for 94-97 trucks unless they have fuel system mods and/or high pressure oil system improvements. If you choose programs hotter than 80hp and experience "bogging", check the fuel system and high pressure oil system for pressure problems.
  • John Wood Valve Body : Many customers experience shift flare with the extra power from a chip. We recommend the use of an aftermarket valve body or shift kit for optimal transmission performance in this application. The John Wood Valve Body we offer has done a FANTASTIC job eliminating shift flare and improving shift quality! Best of all, the standard DP programming workes flawlessly with the JWVB, so you can do them at the same time or one before the other and the programming doesn't have to be changed!
  • "100hp Performance" Tune : If you will be purchasing the "80hp Economy" Tune, we don't recommend the 100hp file. There is very little difference between these, a more noticeable increase in performance from the "80hp Economy" Tune would be the "120hp Race" Tune.
  • Program Order : Chips will be programmed in the order specified in the "Options" section below. We typically recommend placing the lowest HP program in position 2, with power levels increasing as the next program position is selected.

This aint just the hot sauce its the whole enchilada. I got 60T, 60E, 80T, 80E, 140R and 1200 RPM High Idle. The 60HP tow setting made towing my 13K fifth wheel a pleasure and the 60HP Economy setting got me about 2 to 3 MPG. This is topping off the tank and using google map mileage between stations. After alot of research on chips and programmers, I decided to go with the DP Tuner F5 with 60T, 80T, 60E, 80E and 120R. It's ridiculous what this thing did to the truck. It turned my truck into an 8000 lb Mustang and thats on the 80E setting (haven't even tried 120R yet). I installed the chip on Friday and made a 600 mile road trip on Saturday, averaged about 70-75 MPH most of trip and still got 23 MPG. I was getting about 15-16 at that speed before. I just switched from the superchips 1705 to the DP-Tuner and let me tell you I am all grins. This tuner is amazing. There is a night and day difference. I could not think of better money for my Ole (2003) 7.3. The best part about it is no more codes while towing my hauler!! I strongly recommend. a friend was the one who turned me onto dp, i was going to go with banks 6 gun but i am extremely happy with the dp tuner....for instance i stomped a cummins with the 6 guns from banks and i didnt even get out of 80 economy. ive recommended several people to you guys and hope they have bought from you and are as happy with theyre choice as i am.

i had a hypertech power programmer. i ordered the dp with the no start, stock, 60tow, 80tow, 80eco, and 120race settings. the only the that i have towed so far is a 16ft horse trailer wit 4 horses and 25ft deckover flatbed with 200 square bales, but it was better than the hypertech so far. 80eco would whoop hypertech's butt in a race. don't know how fast it will go in 120race(hits 100 then bounces back and just sits there), but it is fast. i strongly recomend a JOHN WOOD valve body(also found on [...read more]
