Product Description:

Air in Diesel Fuel can cause Retarded Injection Timing, Decreased Fuel Mileage, Decreased Power Output, Rough Idling and Noisy operation as well as Increased Exhaust Emissions. There are a number of factors that contribute the problem of Air in Diesel fuel. Some of these include:

  • Fuel Sloshing in the Fuel Tank
  • Vacuum Feed Fuel Systems
  • "Leaky" Fittings in Fuel Systems
  • Fuel Pump Cavitation
  • Fuel Returning to the Fuel Tank

The AirDog from PureFlow Technologies offers a solution to the Air in Diesel Fuel problem. It also provides additional fuel filtration and water separation.

The AirDog / Fuel Preporator is more than just a Fuel Filter. When installed, the AirDog becomes an important part of the fuel system, performing the following functions:

  • Acts as the "Lift Pump" for the system, eliminating the vacuum feed responsibility (and associated air problems) of the stock or aftermarket transfer pump.
  • Provides Additional Fuel Filtration and Water Separation before the transfer pump and factory fuel filter, extending the life of both.
  • Removes entrained air from the Fuel (which is returned to the tank) and provides pure fuel to the stock or aftermarket transfer pump.
  • Provides HIGH VOLUME / LOW PRESSURE fuel supply (10-20psi depending on application) to the stock or aftermarket transfer pump, eliminating cavitation and stabilizing fuel flow and pressure to the entire system.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

The AirDog does NOT replace the factory (or aftermarket) high pressure electric fuel pump on Ford applications. The AirDog outputs 10psi in Ford applications, a high pressure pump to step the pressure up to the required 60-70psi is still required! If you need a pump that replaces the stock high pressure fuel pump, take a look at the AirDog II...click here!

Standard AirDog units flow ~95gph. There is a 150gph AirDog available for those running extremely large aftermarket fuel pumps with flow rates in excess of 75gph at operating pressure. We don't recommend it's use unless you're sure you need it. Many of the commonly used aftermarket pumps (like the Aeromotive A1000 and Fuelab 41401 for example) will work just fine with the 100gph AirDog. We recommend taking a close look at the flow curve for the pump you will be using, if the flow is below 75gph at the pressure you will be running, the 100gph unit will work just fine.

It was a pretty easy install, nothing a shade tree mechanic couldn't do. Works great! Quieted the injectors down and really improved the overall smoothness of the engine.
