The ITP Regulateda Return Kit for the 99-03 Powerstroke Super Duty is an important part of the fuel system upgrade process. This kit eliminates the "dead-head" stock fuel rails and provides adjustable fuel pressure capability to the Powerstroke fuel system. This is accomplished by tying the end of each fuel rail together through a Bypass Fuel Pressure Regulator. The ITP Regulated Return Kit also includes replacement Fuel Feed Lines (from the fuel filter to the cylinder heads) that eliminate the stock Check Valves and the "kinks and crimps" of the stock feed lines.

The primary benefits of this kit are significantly increased fuel flow "through" the heads, eliminating starvation of the #8 cylinder and ensuring that each fuel injector has adequate fuel quantity and pressure all the time. Additionally, any air "bubbles" that may develop in the fuel system can pass through the heads and out the regulators return port to the tank, instead of through the fuel injectors...resulting in increased injector life and less injector noise. If you are installing new injectors (stock or aftermarket), we HIGHLY RECOMMEND one of our Regulated Return kits to protect your investment and maximize your performance!

IMPORTANT NOTES...PLEASE READ!!!!!:
  1. H2E Fuel Kits assume the use of a HyperMax "Y" Manifold for Regulator Mounting.
  2. H2E Style Applications without a HyperMax "Y" Manifold should use our Fuel Bowl Delete Regulated Return Kit
  3. ALL Kits WILL clear "Stealth" and "Terminator" High Pressure Oil Pump Setups.
  4. We DO NOT currently have fuel system kits for the BTS Twin or Swamps GenIII HPOP Systems.
  5. Sorry, we do not currently offer a fuel system upgrade kit specifically for 94-97 7.3L Powerstroke Trucks.

BIO-DIESEL NOTE: While we've taken steps to significantly improve the bio-diesel compatibilty of our fuel system kits, we still recommend bio concentrations of B20 or less. Higher concentrations can negatively impact the glues used to assemble most fuel filter elements.


IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING FUEL PRESSURE GAUGES: Beginning in February, 2010...ALL ITP fuel system kits will be shipped with the liquid filled gauge UNINSTALLED and an appropriate plug for the pressure gauge port included. Due to continuing issues with locating a 1.5" Liquid Filled 100psi pressure gauge that will survive in the high temperature and vibration environment of the Powerstroke engine compartment, we are making the following recommendations:

  • Because we feel it is vital to know what the fuel pressure is doing on modified Powerstroke engines while under driving conditions, we HIGHLY RECOMMEND the use of an ELECTRIC IN-CAB Fuel Pressure Gauge like those available from AutoMeter (and most other gauge manufacturers). This is the only way to monitor fuel pressure and be aware if there are any pressure/flow problems while under load...when it's the most critical.
  • If you can't afford or don't want to do an in-cab fuel pressure gauge, we are recommending that the underhood gauge only be used for the initial setting of the system fuel pressure, occasional pressure checks or for limited time installation if you are diagnosing a problem. Even though we have recently upgraded to a more expensive, all S.S. inside and out, custom built gauge, the Powerstroke environment still seems to be too harsh for reliable long-term operation.

If anyone is aware of a company offering high quality, all S.S., liquid filled pressure gauges (preferrably MADE IN THE USA)...please send us the information to sales@itpdiesel.com. We are continuously looking for better parts to improve our kits, and solving the gauge problems is very high on our priority list!

I installed this on my 02 F-350. I had the turbo off the truck so it made installation easier. The truck runs alot better, starts quicker, smoother running. Its just all around a better running truck. Highly impressed and the quality of parts is first class.

I installed the kit myself. It was time consuming but got it done without any major problems. The only thing that was a problem was having to cut my exhaust to get the down pipe out of the way to access the fuel line on back of passenger head. Every thing else was just nuts and bolts. 6 hours.dee

We set the pressure at 60 and I have a fuel pressure guage on my A-pillar. Now I can see that the pressure only drops to 57 psi on WOT. That is much better than before the kit.

I bought this kit close to a year ago but just got around to installing it in my 2002 F350 a couple weeks ago. I am extremely impressed with the result of this product. Quicker starts, better throttle response, significantly quieter powerstroke and better fuel economy. I installed the RR kit on my early 99 7.3. The directions and parts are absolutely perfect. I had to clearance the exhaust flange as described in the directions, it was not nearly as bad as predicted. I drilled out all the fittings about .040 to help the flow even more. I highly recommend this product. I can't wait to pull some 7% grades and see the true performance benefits.

This is truly the best kit that you can buy-PERIOD! I installed this kit on my previous truck while running a stock turbo and then later upgraded to a H2E and had zero clearance problems. It bolted right up and fit just as if Ford made it themselves. I have been running this system for about a year now. I picked up 1.8 mpg towing 10,000 lbs averaged over 6000 miles towed with no other mods done during that time. 1.8 mpg doesn't sound like a lot but at the price of diesel lately I am more than pleased. It seems to start a little easier now as well. The quality of the parts used in the kit are top notch, everything fit exactly as it should.

This high quality kit is outstanding with excellent easy to follow instructions. Well worth the time and money. I recommend it to anyone looking to smooth out their diesel engine and prolong the life of the injectors.
