Many 6.0L owners have had problems with the stock water drain plug in the HFCM (Horizontal Fuel Control Module...more commonly known as the "Fuel Pump"). The factory plug is prone to stripping of the Allen key, making removal difficult at best.

These plugs are an improvement in several ways. They allow installation and removal with no tools, so the plug can be installed "finger tight" and usually be removed by hand. Should a tool be required for removal, the same Allen key can be used, or even a simple set of pliers. These upgraded plugs are also configured so that they are not completely removed when draining the HFCM. The plug will hand down at an angle and direct the draining fuel away from the frame rail...making the job just a bit less messy.
